Eldon lab

Welcome to The Eldon Lab. The Lab explores the curriculum through a main theme such as: The Rainforest, Underwater, Antarctica, Space The Native Americans.

The classroom environment is transformed into the main theme, through purposeful activities linked to Maths, English, Geography, History, Science, Art, DT, PSHE, PE, Music and Computing.

The time your child spends in the Lab is a very important part of their learning. The children learn new knowledge and transferable skills. The expectation for your children is high, to ensure that your child makes excellent progress. Your child does not miss out on anything when they spend the week in the Lab, as it is an integral part of the school. The KS1 staff work closely as a team to ensure that your child is happy and achieving their potential, whether that be in their class or in The Creative Lab.

All the activities are carefully planned in accordance to the National Curriculum and EYFS Curriculum and suitably differentiated for your child’s needs. The children are assessed each time they visit and these results are shared with the class teachers and go towards the results that are reported to you.

The learning that takes place is carefully planned and assessed. The activities contribute to the class environment whilst learning key information and new skills.

We will also use the children’s knowledge, ideas and questions to gear the learning that takes place. The children can explore their ideas through investigation and answer questions through practical enquiry and creativity.
